Cancer and metabolism: Exploring the mysteries of an ancient connection

Study of the role of the G6PC3 enzymatic system, a ubiquitous isoform of glucose-6-phosphatase, in the metabolism of glioblastoma cell lines. Evaluation of the effects of a glucose analog, anhydromannitol, which has been shown to inhibit glycolysis in highly glycolytic cells such as neutrophils [Veiga-da-Cunha M. et al. Proc Natl Acad Sci U S A. 2019 116(4):1241-1250].
