The present research employs animal models of symptoms of psychiatric disorders and is aimed to i) identify the biological underpinnings of resilience, the main protective factor against depression; ii) identify the mechanisms related to the onset of bipolar disorder, such as sleep deprivation; iii) study the anti-anhedonic properties of drugs, characterize their molecular mechanisms and identify new targets for potential innovative treatments
