17/01/2024 Webinar: Bioprinting: from bench to bedside

Tuesday, December 12, 2023

It is recommended the participation of PhD students from the XXXVII, XXXVIII, and XXXIX Cycles

Bioprinting represents an innovative technology for the fabrication of bioconstructs (scaffolds) with defined organization for applications in tissue engineering, regenerative medicine, and biological studies. With bioprinting techniques, it is possible to accurately deposit a wide range of materials into 3D structures with well-defined internal geometry and topography, even directly in situ on the patient; simultaneously process biomaterials, molecules, and cells at different scales; create custom 3D structures based on imaging data of individual patients; and automate biofabrication processes with high reproducibility. The webinar provides an overview of the latest applications in the field of bioprinting, with a particular focus on future perspectives and limits in the clinical applicability of this technology, as well as current commercial prospects.
