Alteration of immunoregulatory patterns in food allergic responses

The research projects is focused on the identification of alteration of immunoregulatory patterns leading to allergic reaction to food. Our preliminary data suggests that allergic individuals are characterized by a variety of dysregulated immunological pathways including the acquisition of a clear survival advantage by key cell types. We will seek to evaluate the role of this Bcl-2 mediated event in allergy and the underpinning mechanism.
